the accidental garlic sauce..

it was gonna be a merienda cena birthday celebration of cousins who are siblings, since its just a week apart they decided to have it at once..thus we planned the menu.. they wanted a pasta and barbecue party..chicken and pork barbecue, pasta was gonna be pesto and carbonara...then the idea for nachos salad came up..i have always loved how Don Henrico's does their Nachos Salad and it served as an inspiration to make one at home..

we had a hard time looking for nacho chips, so we opted for store bought nacho chips with cheese, it saved us on cheese actually..then we added black olives and freshly torn romaine lettuce, for the ground beef i just boiled it in little water then sauteed it in oil..seasoned it with soy sauce and black pepper..for salsa, it was the store bought kind in glass jar since time was of the essence and we were running out of it..then came the part to make the divine yummy white sauce that completes the package...the garlic sauce!! what i tasted in restos was a tad too salty or the garlic was too strong, maybe because it was raw garlic..then i came up with my own recipe:

half block of dairy creme butter
half cup of pressed garlic
1 box of nestle cream
2 tbsp of mayonnaise
salt and pepper to taste

first heat up a pan then place the butter to melt only, lower the heat and place the garlic. simmer it for a few minutes do not fry..after 3 minutes turn off heat..in a blender pour the cream and add the garlic-butter, blend until garlic is pureed..add the mayonnaise then season with salt and pepper according to taste..transfer to a container and cover.

to assemble the nacho salad, spread the lettuce on the plate then the chips then olives, if you grated some cheese then add some and of course the ground beef..then drizzle the garlic sauce and salsa..voila! indulgence in a fraction of the price! why no photos? it was too delish to even stay for five minutes in the table..definitely gonna make this one again..this weekend maybe?
